AOT was created with the aim of building a first-in-class oilfield services company that would provide oilfield services to its clients at the highest levels of safety and service quality.
Anthony Papalia – General Manager
AOT Co-founder Anthony started his career in the mining and industrial sector before entering the oil & gas industry. Anthony built a successful career with Weatherford International spanning 12 years. Holding positions ranging from field operations to regional management, acquiring extensive geographical expertise across Asia Pacific and Africa. His most recent role was Regional Tubular Running Services (TRS) Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa. Anthony brings significant experience in operational, sales, project management and service quality arms of the business, together with high-level management expertise. Anthony has built and lead multi-million-dollar revenue businesses, managing teams with over 450 members and is currently pursuing an MBA.
Scott Gilbert – Non-executive Director
Scott is the Founder & Managing Director of Group de Clermont (GdC), a private investment company that makes equity investments in a diverse range of sectors throughout the SSA region. GdC is a shareholder in AOT where Scott contributes in a non-executive capacity. Prior to founding GdC, Scott spent over 10 years in the oil & gas industry working in major oilfield service companies such as Halliburton and National Oilwell Varco. He has spent the last seven years working throughout the SSA region in Mozambique,Tanzania, South Africa and Angola. Scott has held positions in field operations, engineering, sales and country management, leading multi-million-dollar revenue businesses of over 500 team members. Before founding GdC, Scott was the Angola Country Director for Weatherford International. He holds a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Robert Gordon University, UK, and several Executive Management studies in Private Equity and Corporate Finance from London Business School.
